By now you all probably know that BikeMO, MOBikeFed's annual fall bicycle
ride, is coming up Saturday October 17th.

More info: http://BikeMO.org

What you may not know is some other events going on in the area that same
weekend:

Dusk

An outdoor art exhibit at Cole County Park which will have artwork from
professional artists from around the globe, including Barcelona, Buenos
Aries, NYC, etc. The theme of this event indicates (and, you are right)
that this is all about dogs. Some artwork is utilitarian and will be move
to the Jeff City Dog Park following the event; some artwork was created by
area schools and involvement from STL/KC schools as well - you will see 10
seven-foot floating dog sculptures on the Lake. Everyone is welcome to
bring his/her dog (on a leash). Other activities include a Dog "Picasso"
Painting - create a piece of art by your dogs paws; dog demos by search and
rescue teams and working dogs from CHAMPS.

Directions from Holt Summit: Take Hwy 54 South. Cross the MO Bridge, exit
at Hwy 50 West (Sedalia). Stay on Hwy 50 approximately 3 miles. Exit at S
Country Club Drive/Truman. Make LEFT turn off exit, go over the overpass
(stay in the Country Club lane - far right side). This will become
Fairgrounds Road stay on this approx 1 mile. Make LEFT at County Park Road
(Great Central Lumber on the corner) - parking is across the street from GCL
sponsored by the Jaycees. This event is handicap accessible; the sidewalk
circles the entire lake so any wheelchair can get around the entire lake
area (0.66 miles).

Jeff City Harvest/Mansion - Sat Oct 17th

The downtown merchants will have their doors open for Harvestfest and the
Mansion will be open as well.

HOTELS

Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn Suites would provide discounts - but, not sure
you contacted them for this. They both provide free breakfast and
internet. Both are at Apache Flats exit area (off Hwy 50 West).
