D&C 88:119
Organize yourselves; prepare every
needful thing; and establish a house,
even a house of prayer, a house of fasting,
a house of faith, a house of learning, a
house of glory, a house of order, a house
of God;

Temple”
Sonnet 504 Reflections on D&C 88: 119

Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty King
The Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
These words don’t speak, or call or shout: They sing!
T’was Handel’s music gave them such increase.
And we need a Handel writing in our time
To make this verse a temple anthem true
To drive into our hearts like holy rhyme
These preparation principles anew.
Oh sure we have our sacred Hymn by Phelps
But it is not so faithful to the writ
For what we need is something more that helps
Both spirit and the actual words commit.
Musicians of the kingdom please endow
These sacred words with fitting music now.
