Ps. 100:1-2
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all
ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness:
come before his presence with singing.
Hymn #2, “The Spirit of God”
Sonnet 511 Reflections on Psalm 100: 1-2
By Tom Matkin July 30, 2009
We have so many choices that are tough
The kind that trouble, torment and perplex
It leaves no time to let the easy stuff
Bewilder, puzzle, mystify or vex.
And what could be more simple than this note
To call upon the servants of the Lord
To serve him with that gladness in your throat
That comes out in a song of sweet accord.
So do not hesitate to choose this course
Of making joyful noise in music bright
To celebrate in union with the source
Of life, of happiness and endless light.
Yes other choices may be hard or wrong
But no one should decide against a song.
