Hey all: As you probably caught in Tela's last email - pre registration is
now open for the 2009 FSA Grand Prix. Thanks to our amazing sponsors,
including ByrneInvent Cycling Club, John Duggan, Gendler & Mann, Nuun and
IJM.org, Marymoor is once again about to host one of the biggest weekends of
racing in North America on July 24-25, 2009. In addition to our local
talent, I am hearing buzz of a very large group of riders coming from across
the U.S., Canada and Tasmania. It should be another fun weekend.
Information, including schedule and pre registration is up at the website:
www.fsagrandprix.com.
A couple of special notes:
1. Preregistration is strongly encouraged for Elite Men, Elite Women and
Masters. You can register on site -with a surcharge-but you must absolutely
be registered before 6:00 p.m. Friday July 24 for ALL Friday night and
Saturday events. I am going to need to make an early call on qualifying
heats for the mass start races.
2. Right now, I have Cat 3 men racing 2 races Friday Night. It will be
$10.00 for both events. No Pre Registration, but we will cut the fields off
at a safe size. I really don't want another pile up like last year -
seriously.
3. Check the schedule - the Friday Individual time trials and team
pursuit and team sprints start Friday morning - not in the afternoon.
4. Check the Schedule - all kierin heats - Men, Women and Masters - will
be run starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. We will only be running Semi's and
Finals during Friday night (this is an effort to get us all home well
before midnight so we can get up and do it again Saturday morning).
Finally - while we have scraped together another $15,000 purse, I still need
additional cash and product sponsorship. I have several spots open for
$1000 or $500 race sponsors. In return for your contribution, one of the
Friday or Saturday races is named for you, your website link will be placed
on the event websites, company logo will be in the event program and Bilco
will recognize you several times during the racing. Please, I know money
is tight out there this year, but if you yourself, or your company, or one
of your friends, can jump in and help it would be greatly appreciated so we
can keep the momentum on this great event going. Please contact me at
either dsmh-@comcast.net or ma-@gendlermann.com or 206 356-0470.
I'll probably blast everyone again in a couple weeks looking for host
housing. Until then -enjoy the early summer!
