MWCCC,
The allocation of qualifying spots for each conference has been
completed. Below are the number of team and individual qualifiers we
will have. The starting point is the number of starting spots we can
have and I can divide it up as I see fit (including qualifying teams
of up to 6 riders - which I have not done.) In the interest of
expediency, I am dividing the spots as was done in the past - teams
entering 4 riders in the road race and 3 in the criterium. Time
permitting, I will try to get feedback on this at the conference
meeting. In the case you care not at the meeting or the agenda items
take up the entire time, feel free to let me know how you think they
should be divided up in the future.
The number of qualifying spots is based on the number of annual
collegiate licenses we had in each division in 2007. We had the
highest number of Division 1 licenses in the NCCA and the second
highest number of Division 2 licenses, which shows this is a very
strong conference.
As in the past, unused spots will be reassigned to other riders
(e.g., if only two riders from a team qualifier are going to
nationals, that opens two spots in the road race and one in the
criterium for individual riders.)
Division 1:
We have 26 qualifying spots in the road race and 19 in the
criterium. This will be divided up into 5 teams (entering up to four
in the road race and three in the criterium), 4 individuals for the
road race and criterium and 2 individuals for the road race only.
Division 2:
We have 22 spots in the road race and 17 in the criterium. This will
be divided up into 4 teams (with four in the road race and three in
the criterium), five individuals in the road race and criterium, and
one for the road race only.
Let me know if you have any questions.
-Andrew
