Wisconsin's Dept of Administration has issued a draft wind turbine
ordinance for the state. The section on Noise is a whole page.
Their recommended standard limit is 50 dB(A). But it is very interesting to
note is that the limit is reduced to 45 dB(A) if the noise contains a
'pure' tone in mid-range frequencies. The limit is reduced to 35 dB(A) if
the noise contains a 'pure' tone in the low frequency ranges.
