18th Annual Tour de Forts
Date: Sunday, April 26, 2009 - The ride you've all been waiting for!
Location: First Coast High School, 590 Duval Station Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. See below before obtaining online directions!
Day-of-ride Tour de Forts HQ: 904.861.8556
Time: Doors open at 6:30 AM for wristband, bike tag, ID, map & T-shirt pickup and day-of-ride registration.
7:30 AM - 62, 75 and 100 mile rides begin
8:30 AM – 18 and 30 mile rides begin
Directions to the School: The online Mapquest and Google Maps ARE WRONG! They do not reflect recent construction at US 17 and Duval Road. If coming by I 95, take the appropriate Exit 363 to go eastbound on Duval Road. Within ¼ mile, bear left at the “Y” intersection. At Duval and US 17, do NOT turn. Go straight across at that light. East of US 17 the road becomes Duval Station Road. It will wind first to the right and then left and then straight eastbound to the school. The First Coast High School is on your right about a mile (across from Publix). In the event you go in the wrong direction at the “Y” intersection, you will not be able to cross US 17. In that case, go LEFT on US 17 northbound, and turn RIGHT at the light – onto Duval Station Road.
This Sunday, the North Florida Bicycle
Club will host the 18th annual Tour de Forts through beautiful Northeast Florida. This fully SAG’d, motorcycle escorted event features rides of from 18 to 105 miles, with maps and marked roads. Breakfast snacks, rest stops and lunch afterward are included. Day of the ride registration is $45.00. It may be too late to get the T-shirt, but you will still be able to say, “Been there, done that…!”
