We've suffered enough
Wednesday, September 26, 2007
Re: "Vitter earmarks funds for religious group," Page 1, Sept. 22.

Here we go again. First, "family values" Sen. David Vitter consorted with women of ill repute and lied about it. Now, he vetted earmark legislation for a right-wing Christian group, and he lies about doing so. Doesn't telling the truth qualify as a family value?

Certainly, Sen. Vitter's dalliances on the dark side brought unwanted attention to a Louisiana battling a national reputation for corruption. Now he is in cahoots with creationists who can only reinforce the idea that if Louisiana isn't corrupt, it's overrun by backwoods illiterates.

Doesn't public education in this state suffer enough without David Vitter's help?
