Has anybody done this ride before (offered for 3 years previously)? I
thought about it last year, but between travel, house repairs, and family
vacation there was no way. I was/am a little concerned about all the
distance on Rt 1 in Southern Maine as the Saturday morning traffic picks
up. Anybody have any comments?

I would like to invite the North Shore Cyclists to a cycle tour that I am
organizing called Seacoast Safari for CF. It will be from August 6 - 7,
2005, and all proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Since
its inception three years ago, Seacoast Safari has raised over $80,000 for
cystic fibrosis research.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting over 30,000 children and
adults in the U.S. A defective gene causes the body to produce abnormally
thick, sticky mucus that leads to chronic and life threatening lung
infections and impairs digestion. Currently, there is no cure.
Seacoast Safari is a two-day, 150-mile cycle tour along the coastline of New
England. The Safari begins with a 75-mile ride from Newburyport, MA to the
University of New England in Biddeford, ME. After an evening of
entertainment, a riders banquet, and overnight accommodations (including all
linens!), riders will enjoy a 75-mile trek back to Newburyport.
We would love to have the North Shore Cyclists come and participate in the
2005 Seacoast Safari for CF. Even if it is just one or two riders, every
little bit counts towards finding a cure for this devastating disease. In
addition, I would like to come and speak at a team meeting, if this would be
a possibility.
