Hey, everybody.
This is a reminder that the fifth general meeting of the semester will
be held Thursday night (2/24) from 5:30pm-7:30pm on the 7th floor of
Kimmel. Food and drink will be provided.
The final of the Accoona Women’s World Chess Championship will be held
next Tuesday (3/1) at 5pm at the ABC Times Square Studios. Irina Krush
of New York University will face off against Zhu Chen of China.
GM Zhu Chen (CHN) (2494) (Ranked 6th among women in the world)
vs.
IM/WGM Irina Krush (USA) (2466) (Ranked 17th among women in the world)
2 games of rapid chess will be played with each game lasting at most one
hour. The tiebreaker of choice is a sudden-death ten minute game.
Move-by-move commentary will be provided by Paul Hoffman and Canadian
Chess Champion and IM Pascal Charbonneau.
