Mr. Robert, thank you for your reply, I had no idea there were brazilians in
Okinawa! In any case, I will look for institutions that may be interested in
working with contemporary artists so that I can approach Japan not only as a
traveler, but as a professional as well, thank you again, Erick.

Bemvindo! You will find an interesting connection with Okinawans and
Brazil...especially during the "Uchinanchu Taikai" (the Worldwide
Okinawan Festival) which takes place every five years..this year, from
Oct. 11-5) as many Brazilians with Okinawan ancestry constitute a very
large number at the festival.
Arts and crafts are abundantly visible in the Ryukyu Islands and a
good source for travel and exploring the island is in the book as
mentioned by Gil Gonzalez earlier, "Okinawa Explorer", by Kenny Ehman:
_Okinawa Explorer Guidebook Opens Door Island Culture - JapanUpdate.com -
Okina_ (http://www.japanupdate.com/en/?id=6643)
Best wishes as you follow your interest in Japanese culture...and
especially in the unique world of the Okinawans.
Robert Martin
