Hi folks ...
Stumbling into the 21st century, hurtling directly from the 14th century, I have begun a `Training Blog' as it relates to my preparations from the bowels of Chicago for the 2010 Race Across the West.
As I've posted in the past, my wife Anna and I will be retiring to our house in Prescott in June of 2011. We've had a special place in our heart for Prescott way before the influx of folks from California and all parts elsewhere. Back in the 1980's we were careening around Arizona and landed in Prescott for a few days. It was a real tug. We had our two boys, both of us were in the mental health field. We drove up, over and all around coming up with too many places we wanted to put down roots. Worry and insecurity about out job prospects in Prescott we returned to Chicago ... but left our hearts and minds somewhere about a mile south of Haisley Road on 89A.
I encourage those interested to view my Training Blog for RAW2010 (below). Struggling to balance love, work and play in preparation for a successful RAW is hard/fun/pointless/must-be-really-crazy/why-do-I-do-this ... etc....
I invite your comments and advice.
My wife tells me I should threaten to ride through Prescott during RAW in my chicken suit so that I can be more easily identified as the `hometown boy.' I'm not yet that far gone to agree to that.
