Be glad we can get those shots, JC.
There is a shortage of the pediatric, and children are the ones with no immunity.

I am glad it went well for you. I am probably getting mine tomorrow or next week.

JC -
It was not given in the skin. The pinch is a big pinch with
muscle included (skin and the underlying muscle).
The needle goes through the skin into the muscle.

Yes, it stung badly for an hour, then the muscle was sore
(at site of injection and for about an inch around it), so it
was given correctly. This is a RN who does hundreds of
flu shots.

By the way, doctors, pharmacies, and clinics have to order
H1N1 vaccine in batches of 100. That's why some small clinics,
pharmacies, and physicians with small practices won't even
try to get it in. If they don't have 100 patients who want it, the
rest of their doses won't be given to anyone and will be wasted.

Vicki,
If the injection stung and the muscle was aching it is because it was
administered properly.  This shots are to be given intramuscularly.
When the person giving you the injections pinches the skin it prevents the
needle from reaching the muscle as it was intended.  When given into the
muscle the medication its absorbed rather quickly.  If the medications
reads "Intra muscular" do not allow the person to pinch your skin if you want to
achieve proper inoculation.

Rgds,

JC
