Sickened by the triumph of selfishness not only in American politics but in the way people treat each other in daily life? The Politics of Meaning might bridge the gap between those of us who worry about America's shift to the Right (in both parties) and those of us who have been so sickened by the moral and spiritual emptiness of American politics that we've lost interest. Now, more than ever, America needs to bridge the gap between our highest ethical and spiritual values and the way we actually lead our lives. We need to transcend the old Left/Right divisions and reject the cynicism and narcissism that surround us. |
