Just can it  Althea Oliver

Here in Australia it is Autumn, and past the peak of preserving season. I prefer to grow my own fruit and veg, but I moved last May, and don't have any producing fruit trees here ... yet. I bought plums, apricots and peaches for bottling, chutney and jam this year, but I do have tomatoes, zucchini, beetroot and pumpkin in the garden. I have pickled one lot of beetroot, and will do the rest later this month. I made a small batch of tomato sauce (ketchup) yesterday, and will make more into paste as they ripen. The pumpkin & zucchini will be made into soup and stored in the freezer for consumption during winter.

What's happening with everyone else?

I just went to the list and it appears to be in total limbo. Our canning season will be getting started in about a month. Has everyone forsaken canning? I can veggies, dry some, freeze some & do a bit of freezing meals ahead. Does anyone can from their own garden or do you get your fruit & veggies from a farmer's market or pick your own type farm?
