Hi All,
I appologize for the delay in scheduling the next potluck. It's been a
difficult past couple of months for me. My dad passed away on June 29th
after 8 weeks of being very sick with cancer, and I have been recovering
from that. I did get a chance to see him right before he died, which is a
good thing; he was bright and lucid till the end, and managed to pass on
quite a few brilliant pieces of wisdom. I will miss him.
I do not have a speaker lined up for this potluck, and I thought/hoped we
might just get together on August 5, to celebrate what would have been my
dad's 89th birthday (it is actually on the 6th, but that's a Monday and
probably not a good time for a potluck). In any case, my dad may have
prolonged his life by almost 4 years by switching to raw foods. Right after
I switched to raw, he came for dinner and got hooked. Many of his symptoms
went away and he began to feel much better. He enjoyed preparing colorful
salads and tasty raw soups. I am glad I was able to give him something like
that.
Perhaps we could share some raw food healing moments, exhange information,
and discuss any questions we might have. If anyone would like to make a
presentation, please let me know and I will send out a follow-up email about
it. Otherwise, I hope this can just be a nice gathering in honor of my
father, as well as something supportive for me.
