RE: Rdas reciever coax  Bill Schworer

Ref the below question about the coax -

If you want to use a simple vertical whip, you should set it up on a decent ground plane and use 50 ohm coax, RG-58 will work fine as the coax. If you are using the higher freq 900 MHz telemetry look for some low line loss coax at 50 ohms (check the web).

Here is link to the HamTV web site page on ATV for rockets and balloons, the YouTube embedded video is a recent flight Jerry O'Sullivan and I did with ATV downlink and using the RDAS telemetry overlay/OSD board. This system uses the turnstile antenna which is shown at the bottom of the page: http://www.hamtv.com/rocket.html

Here are some old (around 2001) web pages I put up when we were first using the RDAS 440 MHz telemetry downlink and amateur TV downlinks. I still use the turnstile antennas for both, they work well up to over 12Kft.

Jerry O'Sullivan's web site is temporarily down to any of the links to VAHPR will not work.

Does any have any better wiring diagrams than the suggested ones
documented in the manual. I having a very difficult time just trying to
safe arm switch to accurately turn off the R-DSA tiny board. Does any
body a a picture of their layout they would be willing to share with me
via email at paso-@cisco.com? Perhaps there are some other internet
resources to augment the wiring setups? Paul from USA/New York.
