Red Pepper Salmon Pasta
4 boned, skinned salmon fillets (each about 1 1/2 in. thick; 1 lb.
total)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup canned peeled red peppers
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons chopped fresh jalapeño chili
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 cup fat-skimmed chicken broth
8 ounces dried angel hair pasta
In an 8-inch baking dish, mix salmon with lemon juice and arrange in a
single layer.
Tightly cover dish with foil. Bake in a 450F oven until fish is opaque
but still moist-looking in thickest part (cut to test), 12 to 14
minutes.
Meanwhile, in a blender or food processor, smoothly purée red peppers,
parmesan, cornstarch, chili, and garlic. Add cilantro and broth; whirl
to blend.
Pour pepper mixture into a 10- to 12-inch frying pan. Stir over high
heat until boiling; keep warm.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in 3 quarts boiling water until tender to bite,
about 7 minutes. Drain; return to pan.
Stir juices from the baked salmon into red pepper sauce. Mix 1 1/3 cups
sauce with pasta.
Spoon pasta onto plates. Top with fish and drizzle with remaining sauce.
Serve, or cover and chill up to 1 day. Yield: Makes 4 servings

Simply Tim: YOUR TIME OR MY TIME?
Rich is a stickler for the calendar. He reminds me twice a year to set
my clocks forward or back one hour because he knows me better than I
know myself. Spring ahead, Fall behind. I think I’ve got that down. When
to do it is another matter altogether. Rich’s quirk reminds me of how
Grandpa Brandt refused to set his clocks or watches to Daylights Saving
Time. Period. Whenever someone asked him for the time, he’d inquire:
"Your time, or MY time?"
Thirty years later, I learned that western Indiana has one of the
strangest continuing relationships with time zones than does any other
state. As an Arbitron Ratings employee, I discovered television prime
time definitions within Indiana can -- and often do -- reflect different
start and end times for programs geographically separated by mere
streets. Literally, the neighbor living on the next block might be an
hour ahead or behind your own time.
So this year when Rich reminded me to reset my clocks in a recent email
(“Tim, this coming Saturday night/Sunday morning we go back to Eastern
Standard Time when we set the clocks BACK one hour”), I asked him: "Your
time, or MY time?"

I bought a Windex outdoor window cleaning kit at the beginning of summer
for my three-season porch. For some reason or another, I didn't use it
until about two weeks ago. Wowie-zowie, did it ever do a great job! And
so very easy, too. The only trick I missed was to allow the pad to get
saturated with water before wiping it around. It took about 20 seconds
for the pad to absorb enough water before it would suds up the window.
At this point I had my doubts as to whether it would a) rinse off, b)
rinse off without streaking, and c) actually clean the window. Short
answer: All of the above. I'm so sorry I waited until now. I had no idea
my windows were so dirty until I came inside and looked out. Dazzling!
It will be the first tool I reach for in the spring. BTW, the official
title is Windex Outdoor All-In-One Glass Cleaning Tool. However, I think
Wowie-Zowie would be a great name, too.

Do You Remember?
Time After Time
Frank Sinatra
Music and Lyrics by Jule Styne and Sammy Kahn
Introduced in the movie It Happened In Brooklyn
Time after time,
I tell myself that I’m
So lucky to be loving you,
So lucky to be
The one you long to see
In the evening when the day is through.
I only know what I know,
The passing years will show
You’ve kept my love so young, so new;
And time after time,
You’ll hear me say that I’m
So lucky to be loving you.
