Asian Noodle Beef Bake

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 large oven bag
1 (1-pound) boneless beef sirloin steak, cut diagonally into thin strips
1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 (3-ounce) package beef-flavored ramen soup mix, broken into pieces
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup ginger-flavored soy sauce
1 small red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1 bunch green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces

Place flour in oven bag; twist end of bag, and shake. Place oven bag in
a 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Add steak strips and remaining ingredients;
gently squeeze oven bag to blend ingredients.

Close oven bag with nylon tie; cut 6 (1/2-inch) slits in top of bag.

Bake at 350F for 35 minutes or until beef strips are tender. Makes 4

For those of you who like action books - Andrew Gross's 15 Seconds is an
excellent read. I first read his books co-authored with James Patterson
then went looking to see if he had written any solo - this was a couple
of years ago while on vacation. I had read two of them on the trip and
was so taken with his writing I located a used bookstore in the town we
were visiting to find two others. 15 Seconds if fast paced with so many
twists and turns, very well written and hard to put down.

I stayed up until 3:45 AM last night reading "Nowhere to Run" by Nancy
Bush. I plan to read the next one tonight "Nowhere to Hide" which is a
continuation of the first one. Great suspense, just couldn't put it
down. Thanks for this venue where we can share so much.

Thanks, Shirley, for "venting". I remember a cookbook that had a recipe
that called for 22 ingredients. Most of which were sold by the company
that put the book out. Now I get most of my recipes from the 5 to 8
ingredients books and online sources.
