Thanks everyone. There are 3/4 bars sold as standard. One is just straight, one is like an anchor and one like a butterfly. Ideas about which one is best? Also ideas about where to get the lights? Tiny spots would be ok I think.

In an accident I had many years ago at about 60-70mph the tubular crash bars I had on a Suzuki GT250 saved my leg from damage as the bike skidded away (after front wheel had stepped into a bl%dy great pothole) so I am on the positive side of these additions. My Bullet 500ES has a front crash bar + the army panniers so that seems OK to me!!!

I once had a crash bar that was solid pipe. Moved the centre of gravity too far forward. Made it difficult to drive in traffic.
See if you can get something of lighter construction.
Btw, some say that the crash bars actually hurt you in the event of an accident. Anyone to clarify?
