having scaffolding delivered to the playa is a sweet notion but it
comes at a price. the best bid i got for having the scaffolding
delivered to the playa was $1800. we can save this expense if we use
the truck to get the scaffolding from reno to brc. this is how we could
do it (and how i did it last year):
- we rent the truck described by adeo (below). never mention that
you're going to bm. we broke one of their truck last year and they hate
us (me).
- we use that same truck to transport scaffolding to and from the playa
(we just need 1 person to drive the truck to reno and back, there are
warehouse guys over there that will load the scaffold on the truck),
transport bikes, go to storage in empire and container-to-camp
transportation. it would be great if we could take care of the scaffold
on friday 22 because brand scaffolding closes on saturday. who will be
in reno that day?
every round trip between reno and the playa will cost about $140 in
milage. i'm over budget too but will contribute $200 for this truck.
glen, you said before that you were interested in participating in the
truck and renting from reno is much simpler/cheaper than LA... neuron,
could we count on you for the rest of the bill? anyone else willing to
participate?

We have a 15' Ryder truck. Pricing is below:
$39.99/day + 57 cents per mile
500 Miles of Use / 10 Days / Insurance = approx $800
Now, I cannot really afford to do the truck, as it turns out. The bar
budget, without the truck, has balooned to over $5,600 from the planned
$4,000. The largest expense is the alcohol, coming in at $2,200 to
$2,500. Everything is adding up, however, from lighting, to fabric, to
Mylar, to...
So, could we find someone to either a) help with the bar or b) help
with
the truck?
SuperD?
