Possibly rent a collage mover truck for the week or something of the like.
I also like the idea of looking at Carson city or Truckee.

I just spoke with the guy running the office. When I asked him about
a truck for the end of the month the 1st thing out of his mouth was
"is this for the Burning Man?" I guess they have a moratorium on
renting anything out to Burners. He said most of the rental agencies
in Reno are wise to this. I guess many of the rental agencies in the
Reno area have had some problems in the past. I'm gathering this is
why Budget cancelled on a number of you guys. I tried to push my guy
at Penske but he would not budge.. Sorry..
I can suggest a couple of things. How about a rental agency in Carson
City, NV? That is about 45 miles South of Reno. I would make sure to
not advertise that its going out to the burn... My guess is that most
of the agency's will either blackball you or charge a ridiculous
price. I would try either Enterprise Rent A Car, Hertz, or U-Haul.
There is also a United Rental in Carson City. The other option is to
get it out of Sacramento. That is about 2 hours West of Reno. I have
several contact here and no one is wise the BM event. Let me know if
I can help you further.
