Actually, Jerry Douglas and did that great album "Bourbon and Rosewater"
with Edgar Meyer (bass) and V. M. Bhatt on the mohan vina, a kind of
Indian slide guitar. Also, Bob Brozman did those great recordings with
Debashish Bhattacharya, who played various kinds of Indian slide
guitars. Really cool stuff.

Speaking of strange combos, at the end of September (30/9 and 01/10),
I get to be part of something different:
A friend is bringing Bob Livingston (formerly with Jerry Jeff, DAC and
ISTR he did a tour or two with Jimmy Buffett) to KC with his
"Cowboys and Indians" music. Fiddle, my dobro, a guitar and a tabla
(possibly some other pieces, I don't recall). No word on sitar.
I don't recall which club we're playing at Friday night (a benefit for
KKFI, the local community radio station), and behind the bars at Ft.
Leavenworth Saturday afternoon; they're supposed to be trying to
arrange something for Saturday night, too
