changing email lists

You have received a notice, or will shortly, about the switch of the
Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition's email list from Topica.com to
Riseup.org. This was done after there were several complaints over the
ads that Topica has been inserting before & after messages that were
sent. That, plus the loss of the list archive and inability to send
messages for 4 days from last Thursday. One message that I sent to the
list last Friday (about the kid's triathlon camp that started Monday) was
apparently lost altogether.
So working with the list manager Robert Bernstein, and with agreement
from the majority of our Board of Directors, we decided to switch to
Riseup.net, even though we have to pay a small amount for it. There will
be no ads.
For at least a month, your subscription to Topica.com will continue, then
we will close the service. You can post to either list, but please do
not send to both. We are asking new subscribers to use the Riseup.net
list. The transition will be transparent, or so we expect. Thanks for
your understanding.
