I would ask that if you receive this e-mail that you forward it out to the Bike Hiker's and the Wheelmen.------
Over the past several month's and years many of you have asked about the condition of Mike Rose. Today Mike is Riding the toughest double of his cycling life. That being ongoing cancer. Last Wednesday Mike under went surgery for a lesion on the brain from cancer, and had been in UC Davis. As many of you know Mike has been battling this decease for the past 4 1/2 years with chemo for lung cancer, prior to that for colon cancer. Mike is a very proud person and does not expect sympathy or pitty. Mike had the goal of "riding into the Triple Crown" hall of fame with 50 doubles. His 11 doubles in 1999 took him to 39 along with 3 in 2000 --left him short 8 short of that goal. Mike has been a great friend to many of us ( especially myself). He has led many great and challenging ride for all clubs. Now it is our turn to help lead a "Challenging Ride" for Mike.If you would take a moment to send a card to Mike Rose c/o John and Sue Robbins --1204 39th St --Sacramento Ca 95816 --I am sure that Mike will appreciate the fact that so many people really do care and that he really does have many friends. If you have ever considered the "Livestrong" Bracelet --give it some thought for Mike --( Just my thought) It is closer to home than you think. My best to all for a happy and healthy holiday season--Regards Ed Scanlan
