Please review: Allocation of start spots

Allocation of start spots

The field limits for the road race and criterium have been set at 169
and 127, respectively.  I have emailed each conference director their
conference’s allocation of start spots.  Generally, speaking, start
spots are allocated to each conference based on the percentage of
Collegiate Cycling licensed riders who race in that conference.

This year, the allocations were completed based on the number of riders
in each division (see Rule 11.2).  (In previous years, the same
allocation was done for both Division I and Division II)

For instance, under the old rules, if your conference had 10% of the
total number of collegiate riders, your conference would have received
approximately 10% of the start spots in each of the Division I and
Division II races.  However this year, if your conference has 10% of
the total number of collegiate riders, but that total breaks down into
5% of Division I riders and 20% of Division II riders, your conference
will receive approximately 5% of the Division I start spots and 20% of
the Division II start spots.

As in the past, your conference director is responsible for allocating
your conference’s start spots in a reasonable manner among the teams
and riders of your conference.

Finally, at the start line, the order of call-up of individual riders
has been clarified (see Rule 11.3.2).

Regards,

Daniel
