I think the only way to approach a short script is the same way that you
approach a full-length script, plot-wise. Only that there is a limited budget
that you have to help in mind. You can write a short film that has one, two or
three scenes in it. Or you can get help from your local Independent Film
Society.

I wouldn't recommend having your friends help (Exspecially with acting)
because there is a chance that they will ruin your project. One case in point, I
once knew a teenager who was making a film for a competition. One of his
friends ended up dying his hair a different color in the middle of shooting.
Otherwise screwed up the continuity of the film.
