Talk to the producer of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER & FATHER OF THE
BRIDE Howard Rosenman:
What is the biggest problem for writers these days? Getting their
scripts read not by low level D-people but by decision makers,
people who can actually get their scripts made. That is why we are
delighted to announce that Mega producer Howard Rosenman recently
joined our team. Mr. Rosenman is actively, yet very selectively
looking for great new scripts to set up at the studios. With over 26
pictures to his name, he is definitely someone who can deliver. To
have him read your script, consult and personally talk to you about
it check out: http://www.writemovies.com/scriptconsulting.htm

IdeaToSale.com:
This is a unique opportunity for serious screenwriters to develop
their scripts with experienced screenwriters and The Talent Scout
Management Company.
Two tutors will control the workshop, give advice, direction,
inspiration and encouragement, as they lead you through the process
of writing a screenplay that a Hollywood agent would be happy to
represent.
There are five stages to the workshop process:
PITCH THE IDEA - We start at the beginning of the process and
discuss your ideas for movies. Here we will explain high concept and
low concept story ideas, the components of a story, and how best to
express stories in a short interesting manner. Whether you like it
or not, the industry initially sifts through writers' offering by
the pitch. To get read, requires having a good simply expressed
story idea, so we shall spend some time on developing your ideas
before letting you proceed to writing the story outline. You can
join just for this stage of the process if you like. This will cost
you fifty dollars and will last for twelve months or until you find
a story you want to work on.
THE TREATMENT - Once everyone is reasonably satisfied that they have
a worthwhile project to work on, then the participants in the
workshop will develop their story outlines. Here we will discuss
your outlines within the context of discussions on story structure.
For those who need it, we will go into details on the Three Act
Principle, The Hook, Act Climaxes, Points of No Return, Set Ups and
Payoffs, and controlling principles. We will discuss the ways in
which you can write your Treatments, and for whom you are writing
them.
THE FIRST DRAFT - After writing the treatment, the writers are ready
to write the first draft. While they work on the first draft, within
a flexible time limit, we shall discuss characterisation, dramatic
relationships, and scene and sequence writing. We will dip into your
work in progress and check how your opening act is developing,
giving advice on dialogue, film format, and the expression of
action, plus check to see that you have a good hook and are setting
up the story properly. After that we will let you proceed to the end
whereupon everyone will read each others' first drafts and give
supportive notes to each other. This process will be closely guided
by the tutors.
THE FINAL DRAFT - So far the workshop has followed the tried and
trusted formula of most screenwriting workshops. Here though we will
go one step further. Because we have been very picky about what
stories you will be writing, and because we have overseen the
process in the same manner as a Production company oversees its
commissioned screenwriters, the first drafts should be at least
competent renderings of interesting stories. Now we will try to make
you go the one step further to create a first class script. Because
it would be impossible for all of you to read all ten scripts now
and give good notes on them, we will match you up with a "Script
Buddy". This person will be one of the workshoppers who we feel is
sympathetic to your project. The two of you will monitor each
other's rewrites before submitting them for final assessment. And
before setting you to the task of re-writing we shall discuss in
detail what we think is working and what we think requires re-
thinking.
THE FINAL FRONTIER - At this point your script is either ready or it
is not. If it is ready to be sent to the studios then, if you wish,
Talent Scout Management will represent your script. If it is very
promising but requires more work, then Talent Scout Management is
willing to go that extra mile and help you get the script up to
standard. Those of you who do not get picked up by Talent Scout at
the end of this, will by now know the weaknesses in your writing and
be able to start their next script with a better idea of what is
required. You might also have a very good script, but just not one
that Talent Scout feels capable of marketing. You will be given
advice on where to go.
The time scale of all this will be four months, after which we are
not obliged to continue work on the script. However, we are flexible
and are not going to pass on anything that looks promising but still
needs work.
Studio Developments notes for "low budget" price:
Do you have a finished script that just isn't getting the feed back
you'd hoped for, and you don't know why? Or have you just finished
your script and want to make sure that you've crossed all the "t's"
and dotted the "i's" so that it will get the attention of a studio
or indie reader? Before you send it out to the agencies, management
companies, studios and production companies, literary agents and
studios, let us take a look at it and greatly increase your chances
of success.
Our studio trained analysts will analyze your script and return the
coverage to you with detailed, constructive and helpful notes to
help turn it into a screenplay that production companies and studios
will want. ALSO, should your script receive a "Recommend" we will
send it out to several agencies, production companies and studios we
have relations with for you at no extra charge!
For only $119.00 per screenplay; we will provide you with concise,
studio coverage.....we think you're script is worth it, do you?
