Great question, Jason - I just thought of that myself.
The deletion of the list WILL delete the archives, and the notoriously
unhelpful Topica offers no export option. Is there anyone out there
who'd like to take on the project of saving the HTML pages? I'll happily
archive them at sfbike.org.

I'll postpone deletion of the list til I hear from someone - though I
may disable the ability to subscribe in the meantime to avoid confusion.
