Greetings...
Before I give you the next entry to this list, I do need to remind you
that many e-mail programs and servers have spam filters that will block
this newsletter from arriving in your in-box.
So if your system has a "white list" or an area to add domains (internet
addresses) that should not be filtered, please add
"sharean-@topica.com" or "topica.com" to that list. And, if you're
not reading this message, clearly your spam filter has blocked this!!!!
;-)
Okay... ."The New Rules"
A recent issue of Fortune Magazine (2-August) has a fascinating article
about how business and the workplace are changing. The article can be
accessed on-line at: http://tinyurl.com/oyfba. Part of the article
actually takes issue with the legacy of management that Jack Welch
created. To whet your appetite, here are a couple of the early
paragraphs from the article:
"...What came to be known as Jack's Rules are by now the business
equivalent of holy writ, bedrock wisdom that has been open to
interpretation, perhaps, but not dispute.
But the time has come: Corporate America needs a new playbook. The
challenge facing U.S. business leaders is greater than ever before, yet
they have less control than ever - and less job security. The volatility
of the markets is so unpredictable, the pressure from hedge funds and
private-equity investors so relentless, the competition from China and
India so intense, that the edicts of the past are starting to feel out
of date. ......"
So there you are. The entire article can be found at:

Have a terrific August.
