Anyway, the computer programs may enter an Amateur Championship
only by being invited. I do not like to push computer to enter
any tournaments unless almost all of the entrants accept computer
programs to enter...

Thank you for answering again.
Mr. Katsumata Kiyokazu says the top programs today would win 3rd place
therefore he admits the computer is not too strong. The claim that the
computer would win 3rd place is a guess. The only way to know how strong
the computer plays is by playing in this tournament.
The other players who do not want a computer just want an easier
tournament by eliminating some competition. The computer will bring in a
different style of play to the games and mix things up to create a more
exciting tournament. In a number of years a computer will always win
this tournament and the opportunity for a computer to play on par with
the top amateurs will be lost.
The computer lost, not challenged, a game to a professional 9-Dan.
That top professional player recently explained the computer would not
be a challenge for him for the next 10 years. I agree with the 9 Dan.

Why do you agree with the administrator of the Amateur Ryu-o
Championships that the computer is too strong to enter the Amateur Ryu-o
Championship?

In 2005, the strongest computer shogi was tie-9th at the
Amateur Ryu-o championship. We expect the program had got
2300-2400 points In Shogi-Club-24 (famous and the largest
shogi club online) scale and the top programs increase 100
points each year. Actually the top four programs in the
latest championship has got 2700 points or more.
And, Mr. Katsumata Kiyokazu professional 6-dan said that
the top programs of the latest championship are now about
third place in the amateur human championships, and I heard
that many entrants of amteur human championships do not like
the computer shogi to enter the championship.
The aministrator also said that a computer program has already
challenged the top professional player, so it it not the
time for computer program to enter the amateur championships.
So I agree the administrator.
