BJ's charges a flat fee for refilling a 30lb and 20lb., so make sure
they are empty. you prepay $18 for a 30 lb. bottle.

At propane refilling places you pay by the gallon, not by the
"container". It really shouldn't matter at the pre-filled places as long
as they are all being filled to legal capacity, presumably they all hold
the same amount.   If you are concerned the place you deal with isn't
honest, perhaps investing in one of those meters you put on the top
would be worth the expense, it would seem handy to know if you are close
to running out anyway. A couple of those small tanks would be the most
mobile solution and should last a single person like Gig quite a while.
But you can get bigger sizes that are also mobile if the small tanks
aren't big enough for you.

old tanks can't be filled anymore. must have the new fittings (opd) to
be legally refilled. prevents leakage and possible explosion.
