Don't use methyl. It's cancer causing, getting it on the skin or
breathing the fumes.

Garry;
don’t fill them over 80% or they will vent if they warm up, something
that will waste money and isn’t safe. Garry.
I think you and Steve are right... I called AB Gas company this
morning, and they said that tanks that are older than 2000 cannot be
refilled... they don't have the internals that pervent overfilling...
and the cost for a 20 pound refill, was $ 15.75... I may go to Lowes or
Home Depot and exchange my tank with a new, filled one... it they
exchange my old tank, with a new, and full, refurbished tank, it would
only cost me about $17...
I will try that first, then if they exchange my tank for a newer
refurbished and full tank, then I can always to to AB Gas company in a
year or two, when I refill again...
But, in the meantime, I will also try find a speed shop and price Methyl
alcohol, to see if I can get this kind of alcohol by the gallon... it
might be cheaper than propane...
