It has come to our attention that the latest version of java that is
being pushed out to workstations ( _22 ) causes problems with SSLVPN.
Seems that something was changed in this version of Java that now
requires that you have a valid forward and reverse dns entries for your
portal. Everyone with a working portal has the forward dns entry
configured so that a name resolves to a number, but depending on your
environment you may not have the reverse entry configured.
For example if your portal is called http://portal.company.com go to a
cmd/terminal window and type : nslookup portal.company.com it will come
back with something like :
Name: portal.company.com
Address: 1.2.3.4
Then type : nslookup 1.2.3.4 and it needs to come back and say
Name: portal.company.com
Address: 1.2.3.4
Adding the proper dns entry on your internal dns servers is pretty easy,
but depending on your ISP this may be a little more difficult for the
outside public dns servers. Unless you own your ip range and manage
both the forward and reverse dns for it, you may have to contact your
isp to make the reverse dns entry.
