I"ve posted new events on the Sustainability Events page at...
http://people.umass.edu/jgerber/SustEvents.htm

And Seth Mansur asked me to send this along for anyone interested in
helping to create an Ecovillage in Amherst....
-------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings everyone,
The date is now set in soil:   Friday, December 8th from 1:30-4pm.
Marry Ann's farm is located on North East Street In Amherst. If you are
coming down strong street from UMass, take a left at the bottom of the
hill, and it will be the second farm on the right (small veggie stand
out front, with a "hay for sale" sign just past the house). If you are
coming from either direction on Northeast street, look for the veggie
stand, it is not Amethyst Farm.   Please bring a small dish of food to
share, so we can break the ice with a little food. The agenda for the
meeting is tentative, but is looking like this:

1:30- meet and great, get to know each other, talk about what want out
of an ecovillage located right here in amherst

then, transition into what the initial steps are for those that are
interested in the ecovillage planning process to flesh out some clear
goals to work towards in the short term to meet our long term goals
previously discussed.

I hate to feel rushed in my actions, but I am headed to Europe at the
end of December to study in findhorn for the semester, and will not be
around for the spring/summer to help plan the starting steps. However,
I see my energy being used as a messenger, lining up all interested in
an ecovillage right here in amherst with Mary Ann, who is very eager and
welcome to this project.

Do get your cerebral juices flowing prior to the meeting, think about
what you want and desire in this project. For me, it is living with
other people that have a common vision for sustainable living and
welcoming students of all ages to live and learn with us in our attempt
to live more lightly on the earth while enjoying a high quality
lifestyle with people I care for.

Please let anyone you know about this meeting, since the earlier people
engage themselves in the process, the more their vision can have a
profound influence.

Good luck in this week leading up to finals, and look forward to seeing
a great crowd on friday!!

Feel free to email me: sethm-@gmail.com
<mailto:sethm-@gmail.com> or call 413 824 9573 if you have any
questions or concerns

-Seth
