RE: EARTH DAY PROTESTS TO TARGET HUMMERS  Daniel Connelly
 Apr 23, 2004 06:02 PDT

Villification is often used as a deflection to self-inspection.
The Hummer gets half the mileage of typical cars. Well, all
that means is one might need two trips to equal the
damage of the one hummer-owner's one trip.   How many wasted
trips does the typical, for example, Suburu owner make?

So, sure, I hate Hummers as much as most people here. But eliminate
Hummers completely, and we're still killing the planet. Hummers
aren't what's clogging 101 when Caltrain runs only every 20 minutes
to an hour. Protesting Hummers isn't enough.   More mirrors are needed.
