The Hummer gets half the mileage of typical cars. Well, all
that means is one might need two trips to equal the
damage of the one hummer-owner's one trip. How many wasted
trips does the typical, for example, Suburu owner make?

The Hummer is a truck, and as such, I believe is subject to less strict
emissions standards. So it doesn't just do double the damage of an
average car. Plus it weighs twice the Subaru, and it is damaging the
roads faster. See previous 13 reasons to hate SUVs.
(Reason 14 to hate SUVs: Less strict emissions standards Reason 15:
Higher weight damages roads faster)
And this also implies that Hummer drivers don't waste trips. Assuming
drivers are equally careless in trip planning, the Hummer driver does
quite a bit more damage than the Subaru driver.

Hummers completely, and we're still killing the planet. Hummers
aren't what's clogging 101 when Caltrain runs only every 20 minutes
to an hour. Protesting Hummers isn't enough. More mirrors are needed.

We're not just protesting Hummers. We're encouraging bicycling.
