Some of the tracks a really short. She did a re-make of Ready for The World's " Love You Down"....i love it. I let someone borrow the CD already, and I'm suppose to get it back today (HE BETTER NOT HAVE SCRATCHED IT). I can let you know just how long the CD actually is when i get home.

Is it true that her new album is really only 30+ minutes long?

Nicole-

I hear you.  Where at Wash U are you?  I'm at the Genome Center . I remember your sister.
Haven't been to the Firebird yet.  Haven't been to any good shows for a while. Digable Planets minus Ladybug are here this Sunday but I doubt I'll go. Ladybug had some of the best verses...

I'm going to go see if I can find some St.. Vincent on youtube...

Mack - i cancelled that gym membership - you would think that since i work for Wash U they would give me a good deal to go there, but noooo... lol.  my sister and i (you met her at E's concert too?) live in a apt complex that has some gym stuff. truth be told, i've been slacking.  ugh.
have you been to any good shows? (@ the firebird, pageant, off broadway???).  i saw St Vincent at the Firebird a couple weeks ago. amazing.

Nicole,

Yup. I'm still here. Have you been to the gym lately?  Me and my wife just had another little boy so I haven't been making it over there much. Do you know when Me'Shell's next record comes out? It sounds to me like she's been injecting a lot of early 80's college rock (The Cure and stuff like that) and mixing it in with her usual flavors. I really liked the last record. Her dub tunes are excellent.

I've never even heard of Anna Ternheim or St. Vincent !  Cool, thanks!

Anna Ternheim - what have i done
Me'Shell NdegeOcello - bright shiny morning
St Vincent - laughing with a mouth full of blood
Grizzly Bear - ready, able
I second the albums already mentioned - Fever Ray, Phoenix , Silver Sun Pickups.

Every now and then I feel the need to check and see if the list is still alive since no one seems to use it any more. I used to love getting emails from all of you characters (I say that lovingly.)  Besides Esthero and her brother's presence, I liked everyone's music recommendations.  While I impatiently wait for Esthero's and D'Angelo's and Sade's next release, I thought I'd ask what everyone else is doing to cope with her absence, (besides listening to Half A World Away for the buhzillionth time.)  I doubt this will start any sort of rebirth of the list but here's a snapshot of what I've been listening to over the last several months:

Electric Wire Hustle.  These guys kind of fill the Lewis Taylor void (since he decided to retire). From New Zealand .
