RE: Parents at meetings  Fernandez, Carolina

I've been lucky that not one of the parents shows up to the meetings. But I've had parents wanting to come see their teens play Wii and such. When that's happened, I've told them that teens feel more comfortable amongst themselves and tend to interact better when it's only kids their age around them. That works like a charm!

there's usually no polite way of saying it. Unless she's within your age limit (7th - 12th grades, 12 - 18 years) she's not invited to attend the meetings. She's welcome to browse for books while waiting for her child.

sometimes blount is the only way. or have your manager speak with her

Subject: {TAGAD-L} Parents at meetings
Have any of you run into parents who come to your Teen Advisory Board meetings like they're members too? I've never run into this before, and I'm at a loss at how to politely tell this particular parent she isn't suppose to join in.

Thanks,
Natalie
