Why Should I Race Cyclocross? IT'S SUPER FUN!
Contrary to popular belief, cyclocross racing is really fun. It's
technically challenging and physically demanding for mountain bikers and
roadies. The effort and skill required to compete elevates your overall
racing fitness and leads to great cardiovascular strength and bike
handling skills.
Cyclocross Courses
The classic cyclocross courses are 1.5- to 2-mile loops on a mix of
paved and off-road surfaces over flat-to-rolling terrain. Due to
darkness at N Meck Park, we will be using a shorter course at the
Charlotte Cross Series. Typically, races lasts an hour plus one lap.
But, what makes cross such a unique and challenging sport is that
courses always include obstacles that force riders to dismount, run
short distance while carrying their bikes and remount the bike.
Come check it out. Even if you don't race, come watch the race as you
can see the entire course from the finish line.

Stanley Creek Massacre 5K/8.5K
This years race is the morning of October 3rd @ 8AM. The courses are
routes I worked out, both are very challenging with some insane climbs
and elevation change...it'll be a real eye opener to any flat-lander! I
wanted to design a race that challenged all the runners even the
seasoned ones and I think this one will do it. So come run the rural
hills of Gaston County! If all goes well I already have a sick 1/2
marathon route in the works to add in the upcoming years!

You can get the registration form here:

In a brochure form here:

This same morning is the Town of Stanley will be having their annual
Country Fest with food, rides, vendors, etc. so be sure to stick around
and check that out. Funnel cake is an excellent recovery food after all.

The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is to honor and empower wounded
warriors. Their main purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the
public’s aid for the needs of our severely injured service men and
