New weekend ride plans  Eastbay Cyclists
 Oct 15, 2002 22:59 PDT
Hi Everybody,

We have changed the plans for our October trip to keep
costs down and allow people to attend that can't get
Friday the 18th off work.

The first group will be carpooling to Gilroy this
Thursday evening and staying there overnight. We will
start our ride (and leave cars) in Gilroy on Friday
(about 60 miles) morning and ride to the campground at
Pinnacles National Monument. The second group will
meet with us on Friday and we car-camp there on
Friday.

The Saturday ride will be long and beautiful. We head
through forgotten Ranch country along Hwy 25 for 85
miles. We spend the night in San Miguel (near Paso
Robles) On Sunday we will take a scenic ride from San
Miguel to San Luis Obispo via Morro Bay. (about 50
miles)

At this point we have 6 people going plus Dave has
volunteered to be our Sag Wag driver. You won't need
to carry your gear for this ride, but you will need to
bring at least a sleeping bag and mattress for the
camping on Friday night.

The costs will be about 50-70 per person for
transportation plus food and the cost of the motel in
San Miguel.

If you are interested in either option please let us
know ASAP. We will be making logistical plans for the
transportation part of the trip tomorrow evening.

You can either e-mail us (please include your phone
number day and eve) or call Jane at 510-205-5042 or
Todd at 510-593-0200.

Hope to see as many of you as possible this weekend!
