This is the last race in the USGP series and is a UCI race for the
elites. For you, this really won't change anything except that your
race will not be combined with the A's like it is at many races. The
course won't be marked until Saturday and everbody will be in
Watsonville racing round #5 so I wouldn't expect to see anybody
pre-riding the course.
The differences between UCI races and "normal" races isn't really that
major, the course has to be designed to specific standards, elite
callups are based on UCI points and there is no feeding in the Elites
and usually Master's catagories.
This is only the second legal bike race in GG park in the last 30
years, last year was the first. Last year was great because the crowds
were bigger. With many of the top racers in the country coming in for
the weekend I would highly recommend people coming out to check out the
race!!

Hey all,
On another listserv, there is discussion about the planned course for
next weekend's Pilarcitos
Grand Prix race. From looking at the technical planner document, it
appears to be a much more
hi-profile race than any of the DFL races I have done there. I am
curious how the changes and
application of rules will affect me, a beginning racer. Sure, I will
put myself out there (mostly
because its easy to get to, for me), but I want to know if anyone has
words of wisdom. Oh, and I
would like to do a pre-ride before the event with someone from TWW. I
want to have the right
tires, pressure, and overall preparation. Who's down to provide a sneak
preview?
