Welcome to The Apothecary  Philip Bailey

Hello

I'm pleased that you decided to have a look and hopefully you will
become a part of The Apothecary community.

My attempt to grab attention is the web description "An interactive club
offering helpful free advice on health and fitness issues. It is a
permanent library with a forum attached. Its idea is to
replace here today gone tomorrow health forum topics and to offer an
alternative to commercial sites."

It is true the vast majority of sites in this field are of a commercial
nature and their primary objective is to sell products. Mine is to try
to obtain and pass on the best possible advice. Frequently that will
mean exploring what is known about using fruit, vegetables and herbs for
maintaining or improving health rather than recommending some dubious
claims about a product.

I have come across a number of forums and the advice you can obtain from
them ranges from the excellent to the very poor, especially in
discussions about eating disorders. The Apothecary forum will be well
moderated and the website will not promote dubious products. Well, I
don't want to find myself having to defend a law suit :-(

But the worst thing about forums is that the good advice disappears into
the mists of time. All the good advice from The Apothecary forum will
eventually be incorporated into the website, providing a great web
resource for all.

Of course it is early days in the development of the site and a lot of
research and work needs to be done. Please come and join me in making
the site a success.

The site can be found at http://theapothecary.890m.com and the forum can
be accessed from there or directly at:
