ALMOND-COVERED APPLES
Äpplen under mandeltäcke

Makes 1 cake, approx 8 pieces

4 - 6 apples
good 1/3 cup sugar
1 3/4 oz margarine or butter
good 3/4 cup rolled oats
7 oz (1 cup or 1/3 lb) almond paste,
coarsely grated

Heat the oven to 435F.

Peel and core the apples and cut in dice. Put them in a well-greased
dish and sprinkle with half the sugar. Mix remaining sugar thoroughly
with fat, oats and almond paste. Divide this mixture over the apples and
pack well. Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with vanilla
sauce. Enjoy!
