To our valued customers:
Several weeks ago we had our domain name illegally taken and it has shut
down our website: www.thethingshop.com. We are working diligently to
restore it but unfortunately the process isn’t an easy one so it will take
some time. The shopping cart and the website were not tied together and we
believe that no credit card information was compromised. Until we get our
old site up and working again, we have set up a new site:
www.thethingshop-az.com where you will be able to see parts and pricing but
will not be able to place orders yet. Also, the new site was set up from a
back up dated December 2008 so some of the pricing isn’t current and some of
the links aren’t functioning properly but we’re working hard to correct
everything. In the meantime, it’s “business as usual” with same day
shipping for in stock items but to place an order, you’ll have to call us,
toll free at 1-800-VW THING (800.898.4464), fax your order to
480-753-0688 or email without credit card info (see below).
Please also note that all of our email addresses went through the old
website (ord-@thethingshop.com or serv-@thethingshop.com) so we haven’t
received any email at those addresses in weeks. You currently can reach us
by email at: orders.the-@gmail.com. We apologize that you may have
tried to contact us by email and received no response and are very sorry for
the inconvenience that all of our problems may have caused. Rest assured
that we value your business and the reputation we’ve gained over the years
for outstanding quality and service; those things haven’t changed. Thank
you for your patience - we look forward to serving you and please feel free
to call or email at our new address with any questions or comments.

PS: For those of you in the Eastern part of the country, remember that this
coming weekend, July 11, 2009, is Kubel Treffen East. We will be there as
usual with a booth and product to sell. You can see information regarding
the show at: http://kubeltreffeneast.homestead.com/KTE2002.html or through
the “events” tab at our new website: www.thethingshop-az.com.

Quote of the month:
The greatest mystery is not that we have been flung at random between the
profusion of matter and of the stars, but that within this prison we can
draw from ourselves images powerful enough to deny our nothingness.
