RE: The Perfect Poop  Gwen Golub
 Nov 04, 2009 10:32 PST

Thanks for the thorough explanation. I'm happy to report that Tashi has
PPs 95% of the time :^)

Yesterday we experienced the "troublesome and unacceptable, by the way,
hard little meatballs that take forever to come out..."
And he wasn't interested in breakfast...

No problems today though :^)

More troublesome is that my housemates tell me Tashi has eaten some pooh
in the back yard. I haven't seen it. They keep insisting he might be
mental. But I've read that it can be a sign that he's hungry and doesn't
have access to his food. I can't free feed because of housemate's dogs.
Or it could be some other nutritional reason. Or he could be bored or
upset. One time apparently he brought a dried piece into the house and
was crunching on it like a stick. It DEFINITELY got my housemate's
attention when she went to put it back outside.

What say ya'll?

/Gwen (please don't let my dog be mentally unstable)
Tashi (got your attention didn't it?! mwah ha ha ha...)

A perfect poop (PP) has a nice little shape to it, somewhat like a cigar

with rounded ends. There could be one or two or even 3 of them at a
time, and later in the day, there may be more. It's OK if the PPs vary a

bit in size and shape. They can also be various shades of medium dark
to dark brown.

It's the consistency that is key: what we certainly DO NOT want, are
those loose and runny, barely-formed poops (BFPs). You know, the ones
that leave some tell-tale embarrassing 'evidence' even after you scoop
them up into your plastic bag - you do all always carry plastic bags,
don't you? If not, use caution in visiting the Bay Area. Not cleaning up

after your dog is right up there with smoking within 50 yards of another

person around here.

If the unsettling experience of seeing a BFP coming out the rear end of
your little angel does befall you some fateful morning, you can only
hope it's a sunny day and the evidence dries quickly and just flies off
into the atmosphere. A rainy day is also good.

Also troublesome and unacceptable, by the way, are those hard little
meatballs that take forever to come out and make you late for work. But
at least they are eminently scoop-up-able.

If your TT presents you with Perfect Poops on a fairly regular basis
you'll soon get to recognize them and rejoice when they appear. It could

turn out to be the best part of your day. You can easily scoop them up
in your plastic bag - they will hold their shape -and deposit them in
the appropriate container. You can then proceed with the rest of your
day without having to wonder if your dog will still be alive when you
get home. Installing those nanny cameras in each room of your house and
hooking them up to serve as a screensaver at work, will give you peace
of mind and probably be cheaper in the long run.
