Grant,
I have been looking over several articles on the internet and came across a
discussion of large diameter pipe rehab. It seems as though there is a
tremendous amount of rehab work needed around the country and I am
specifically
interested in the methods employed in cleaning the sand and grit from large
diameter sewer and stormwater pipes. I am assuming that cleaning must
occur before
any liner can be put in place. <snip>
From what I understand, it is very difficult and time consuming to use
vacuum
methods, especially in lines buried deep. Garner Environmental has a
system
advertised on their website for cleaning large diameter pipes by using a
jetter and pump which then decants water back in the line. This seems to
be
efficient. Have you used them? Do you know of anyone that has, or plans
to?
We are in the petroleum and petrochemical industry and are looking for a
method to clean large stormwater tanks that trap plant runoff. This has
been a
very difficult and time consuming effort for refineries and chemical
plants. In
fact, they have traditionally cut an access hole in the tank and drive a
dozer in to remove the grit. The EPA has put a stop to this practice and
are
forcing them to remove the grit by other means.
Thank you in advance for your time. I appreciate your help.
