Kent was informed this past week, that an "Executive Decision"
had been made to have uniform library resources at all the Federal
Prisons. The "approved list" will have only a minimum
selection and all the prisons will have the same recordings and
books. This small list of possibly 60 audio, 20 video, and 100
books will undoubtedly not include Christian material. Where he is,
they are already getting rid of the large library of Christian materials
that have accumulated there. This is very discouraging news. There
was a lot of Christian material that was greatly being used by the men in
the prison.
Then he was called in by the Chaplin and told to stop having
"unauthorized meetings." Kent questioned what this was
concerning, and was told it was in reference to the 8:30 p.m. meetings he
had been having. Kent responded that he was informed they could
meet in groups of five or less, and that he had been doing that with
three or four men to pray. The Chaplin simply told him very firmly
that he was no longer allowed to do this. Again, very
discouraging! Our federal prisons are not much different from
Communist China!

After seven weeks of waiting for a ruling from Judge Rogers on a Motion
for Acquittal, the 11th Circuit ordered her to rule on the motion.
Only a few hours later, she handed down a 39 page document DENYING the
Motion for Acquittal, and LIFTING the STAY on Forfeiture. Knowing
that the Judge herself had asked for the additional hearing, after
witnessing the extremely effective aural arguments of our attorneys on
February 28th, and after hearing the optimistic attitudes of all who were
at the hearing including positive comments from our attorneys, we were
very disappointed and heavy hearted at this ruling. What happens
next?
Jo's attorney will file a new motion for a STAY on Forfeiture while the
case is on appeal, work on corrections to the Pre-sentencing Report for
her and set up with the court her new sentencing date. It will
probably be sometime in the end of June.
Kent's attorney will work on the briefs to the 11th Circuit for his
appeal and asking for a STAY request on his incarceration. If
granted, this would allow Kent to be out of prison while his case is on
appeal.
So legally what happens next is continue to WAIT. I want so badly
to have this be over with! The constant "threat of what might
happen" is constantly hanging over our heads. The constant
criticism from the world, the atheists, and Christians who love God is
thrown in our face daily.
Spiritually what happens next? We must continue to serve God day by
day. I really honestly believe that when I pray for a miracle in our
case, I am not just praying for selfish reasons. I earnestly
believe that the cause of Christ is at stake. I really believe that
souls are hanging in the balance because this ministry has been
privileged to be used by God to bring others to Himself. I honestly
believe that HIS name and HIS glory are at stake.

My specific prayer request today is for the CPA, Mike. We felt we
had found the perfect answer to our prayer. He is a third
generation CPA right here in Pensacola. The family business has
been in operation for 33 years. They are familiar with the
attorneys and the IRS here and have worked on difficult accounts with IRS
litigation before. They already do 13 other 501 c 3 accounts, and know
exactly how the IRS wants them handled.
Mike is a Christian and has been to Dinosaur Adventure Land with his
family several times and loves our ministry. He expressed his
desire to help us through the set up and structure of the entire
ministry. Sounded perfect!
But he did not come for the meeting that we had set with him, and he has
not returned our phone calls for over a week. We have left messages
on his answering machine, but got no response.
We are very anxious to move forward in the re-structuring. We even
got to have a phone conference with David Gibbs, III, and he said the
proposed new structure by Mike was exactly what we should do!
Yeah! We felt like we were finally getting somewhere!
Now, we don't know whether to start all over with another CPA or what.
Please pray that if Mike is the right CPA for us, that he will do the
job!

I went out to see Kent on Friday evening. The guard told me that he
was no longer at the facility. He would not tell me where he
was. Fear grips your heart when you are given news like this.
I came home, and Marlissa looked up on the internet and found that he had
been moved to Marianna, Florida. It is about 2 and a half hours
from here. She called the Marianna prison and the lady told her
that he was indeed there, and that anyone who was already approved on his
visitor list could come visit him the next day.
Paul Dublin (the young man Marlissa is dating) drove over to Marianna
Saturday to visit him. However, he was denied access and was told
that Kent had been moved for "disciplinary reasons" and
therefore he could not have any visitors for the duration of the time
that he was there. Either they would not tell Paul, or did not
know, how long that will be.
Saturday night, Kent was finally able to make one phone call. He
tried to call me, but I was gone, so he called Eric. Kent relayed
that he had been moved last Tuesday, May 1, and had been told that he was
being moved from Saufley Field Facility to separate him from Ward Dean,
another inmate at the facility, NOT due to disciplinary action. I
do not know a lot about Ward Dean, but I do know that he was a medical
doctor in Pensacola that used a lot of nutritional and alternative health
care in his practice. I also understand that he was arrested and
prosecuted by the same IRS agents, the same Prosecuting Attorney and the
same Judge as we were. Last weekend Kent told me that Dr. Dean is
not a Christian, and that he had been witnessing to him about
Christ.
They have put Kent in solitary confinement for 23 and 1/ 2 hours a day.
They took everything away from him. He is sleeping on a concrete
floor. One guard told him that it was for his protection because this
facility had more dangerous criminals in it and they had no where else to
put him. Kent was not in danger where he was and his family could see him
each weekend. He was doing everything that was asked of him.
This is so unjust!!
The guard told Kent that he COULD have visitors, but we just have to fill
out all new forms. But they clearly told Paul Dublin on Saturday
that he could not have any visitors during the entire time that he would
be there! They told Marlissa on the phone on Friday that he COULD have
visitors immediately-the next day.
This is another one of the MANY frustrating things about dealing with the
prison and the government. We are learning that there are no
rules. The rules are made up as you go by whoever you talk to, or
by the Warden, or by the guards or agents in charge. You are
totally at their mercy. Even when you are trying desperately to do
everything right, if someone "has it in for you" it really
doesn't matter if you try to do what is asked of you.
To say that I am calm and not upset would be a lie. My heart is
breaking in two! I know that many men who have been greatly used by
God have had "dessert places" in their lives. Times and
circumstances that it was only them and God. Like Moses on the back
side of the dessert, Hudson Taylor alone in his mission field, and many
more. Is this what God is doing? Preparing Kent for a greater
work? Or is this the tip of the ice berg for persecution in
America? The House of Representatives passing the Hate Crime
Legislation makes me think so.
The only phone calls Kent can make is to his legal counsel. That
has to be pre-arranged by his attorney. The address of the facility
