Thanks Bob, that is probably the one that is mentioned in the article.
Speaking of Lars, I'm not sure how much I trust everything in his booklets.
I was looking through one yesterday and he was showing an A-model as being
assigned to the 29th TAS with the tail code QB in the early 70s. I was in the
29th at Clark until it deactivated in the summer of 1970, and the squadron was
equipped solely with B-models. I understand the designation went to Forbes
for a few months until the 313th inactivated, but Forbes never had any A-models
that I've ever heard of. He also shows one airplane as having been with Air
America at one time. Once again, Air America was not involved with C-130s.
The E Flight airplanes were flown by pilots and other crewmembers employed by
Civil Air Transport, which was headquartered in Japan. CAT was a CIA
proprietorship as Air America was, but they were two different companies and they flew
Air Force airplanes "on loan."
