I remember some talk before I left Naha that the Air Force was planning a
major modification program for all of the A-models. It included adding
electrically operated GTC doors, urinals that drained overboard like the Bs and Es
(the Tachi airplanes did have urinals) and four-bladed props. As far as I know,
none of this took place until the As went to the Guard and Reserve.
Does anyone know if the electrical wiring was replaced on the IRANS? As I
recall, in the 60s the operational life of wiring was about ten years.
